What You Can Do
There are many additional resources you and your child can use:
Learn more about various jobs by viewing the Virtual Job Shadowing Webinars.
Learn more about various corporations and the skills your child will need by viewing our Virtual Corporate Field Trips.
Give your child the credit she deserves with a LearnDoEarn ‘Credit Card.’
Celebrate milestones with a LearnDoEarn shirt or bumper sticker from the LearnDoEarn Store.
Have fun while you work with your child to help her understand that building a strong academic foundation, a professional-level work ethic, computer proficiency, financial literacy and an ability to do the math will help her meet her future goals. And don’t be afraid to nag. Parents who DON’T nag their children about the importance of education have only an 11% chance of seeing their child graduate from college! |
Step 2: Do
…three things to make sure your child knows how to prepare for any future.
| a) |
Spend some time with your child reviewing the various LearnDoEarn student presentations that will help your child understand why he will need to build academic momentum, develop professional-level work ethic, achieve computer proficiency, be financially literate, and understand why Mathematics is the most important subject. |
| b) |
Make sure your child has learned the math that will be necessary for college or work by having her take the online Math Challenges. |
| c) |
Reinforce the presentations with the LearnDoEarn posters. Put them where your child can see them every day: the refrigerator, in his room, on her bulletin board. |
| d) |
Make sure your child’s school is deploying LearnDoEarn. Research shows that middle and high school students attain more when more of their friends have high academic aspirations. LearnDoEarn can motivate your child – and all his friends. And only teachers can award the LearnDoEarn credentials, which your child can use during the college admissions process or when seeking employment. Call your school today! |
