Whether you list references on your resume, or supply their names later, make sure each of them has given you permission to do so.

Include some basic information about them, like titles, companies and phone numbers.

Family members cannot be references.

You DON’T want an employer calling a person you have listed as a reference if that person is not expecting the call.
